QUICK POST!!!

I HAVE TO PUT MAYA IN DAYCARE 3 DAYS A WEEK FOR ABOUT 6 HOURS. I HATE TO DO THIS BUT RIGHT NOW I HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE. I AM COMPILING A LIST OF QUESTIONS. I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY INPUT.

1) CPR Certified
2) What Education Classes have they done, and do they do continueing Education?
3) MOVE TO CA and you can have her with Angelena
4) DO they provide food
5) What is there policy on childrens illness
6) Do they have a Video Cam Feed so you can check in anytime of the day

Gin~ don't worry... This maybe a good thing for Maya... She does need socializing with other baby's. I found that out with Angelena. It is amazing how they teach each other things... GOOD AND NOT SO GOOD.. But it is a learning step.

Give me a call.

If you move here you can put her in my home daycare.
Find out about discipline. Do they have a schedule, early childhood activities. If I think of anything else I'll let you know.
She will do fine. Just keep on top of things and have good communication with the provider.

Ginger,
Both my boys went to daycare. AP is my first go at being a sahm. One thing I would suggest is popping in unannounced OFTEN. You will never get a clear picture of what it's really like if they're expecting you.... Both my boys turned out great. They loved "school". 3 days a week is a great balance for you both.
love to you!

Ginger don't know much about daycare but I would find out how long they have been in business and get some references of people that use them or have and see if I could talk to them.

As a daycare kid myself, don't worry so much. Day care can be really good. I think Ruby has a lot of fun there and I know for me when I was a kid I loved it becuase I got to play with my friends. I thing Ellie gave you a good list . The only thing I would add is to listen to your gut and trust your instinct.

As Ellie said - move to CA and if Ellie moves closer to me :) I'll watch both your kiddos (actually should say all 3 of yours, right Ellie? :) )! but then again, some of my first suggestions wouldnt work tho!

#1 is to ask re: ratios - make sure they're what the state requires altho many states require less than what little ones need. Fortunately Maya (compared to say a young infant) is a bit more self-sufficient and that's great!

Def. ask re: food, schedules, anything special that she needs. DO pop in unexpected and talk to MANY, MANY of their references before signing Maya up... She's got you as mom, so she's gonna be fine :) Take good care and keep us posted!

I'm sure she will be fine. It will be harder on you than her. She seems very smart and happy.

Chew gum. Sounds crazy, but it helped me when dropping off. It gave me a fresh feeling when I was all sad and something to take my mind off of things. After a while it will feel like you have done it all along. Miss Maya will be just fine:)

Praying for you as you have to part from your daughter for a little bit.
