A CRY FOR HELP!!!

Photo Sharing
THIS POST IS FOR MY MAMMIE AND AUNT SCHNELL IN ALABAMA. THINGS ARE GETTING REALLY SERIOUS IN TEXAS. I AM ALMOST OUT OF SUCKERS AND MY MOMMY WON'T BUY ME ANY MORE. SHE THINKS THEY ARE MESSY. I DID GET IT ALL OVER ME TODAY, YES IN MY HAIR TOO. BUT THEY ARE SOOOOOO GOOD. GOTTA GO, I AM NOT SUPPOSE TO BE ON THE COMPUTER. MY MOMMY THINKS I AM SLEEPING. HA HA, I SURE DO KNOW HOW TO TRICK HER. I DO LOVE HER SO MUCH BUT I NEED MY SUCKER FIX.
Maya and I were in Wal-mart today. She was in the cart at the checkout. The cashier was a young girl. She started telling me how cute Maya was. Then she said it must be fun to babysit her. I told her that Maya was my daughter. She looked so shocked. The she said "her daddy must be black". So, I decided to run with that. I looked her right in the eyes and told her that I really didn't know what her daddy looked like. I wish I had taken my camera. The look on her face was priceless. I really thought that her eyeballs were going to pop out. She was speechless!!! So, I told her that she was adopted from Guatemala. She said that she was so sorry but that she just thought that there was NO way she could be my daughter. She then told me how lucky Maya is and that I was a saint for doing that. I told her just how blessed I was to be Maya's mommy. It was a very interesting and fun conversation. That was my first encounter with questions.
Mammie and Schnell, Maya is right I do think suckers are messy but I have bought her quite a few (she left that out). I guess I am going to hide the computer before Maya gets me in trouble.

That water picture is SOOOOOOO COOL!!!
I love it!!!
Maya is precious as usual.
Regarding the questions, yes, be prepared because they come. In general, I think people mean well, but the questions can be annoying and
sometimes ill informed!
The best comment I've had yet was from an old acquaintance who said,"Oh, you did it the easy way, no stretch marks!"
I wanted to punch her lights out, but like I said most people mean well.
She just had NO clue what she was talking about, and at that point people should just shut up.
It's easier now to deal with when our babies are younger, but what about all the questions when they are old enough to understand?
I also read recently in an adoption magazine that all the comments from people about how beautiful the Guatemalan babies are can get kind of freaky for our kids when they are older.
We have so much to learn and deal with...
Sorry for rambling on your blog...

The picture is so cute. Maya is a very lucky girl to have you for a mom. Maya come home and sissy will get you some suckers. Can't wait to see you in Nov. Uncle Mike should be home so you can meet him this time.
